About Me

Patricia Rosie Anderson smiling by the sea

Hi, I’m Tricia, a Functional Medicine Health Coach and Functional Medicine Nutritionist in private practice.

I support you with your health and wellness goals using practical, natural means. That might mean food plans, supporting your immune or digestive system, detoxification, weight loss, cognitive health, exercise, sleep, stress or work-life balance.

I specialise in disease prevention and longevity.

Appointments can be online, by telephone, in person at my retreat in Johnshaven from late January 2027, or a blend of these. Together we find insights and solutions for your health concerns.

I work at your pace, thoughtfully and without judgement, to help you reach your goals.

My Background

In 2009, while I was a lecturer at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, I became seriously ill. Once I had recovered, I used a Functional Medicine approach to work out what had contributed to my ill health. I then changed my diet and lifestyle drastically to stay well, taking a dis-ease prevention approach.

That experience led me to retrain in Nutritional Therapy, after a career that included working as a Global I.T. Project Manager for the Shell Group.

I completed an intensive three-year course at The College of Naturopathic Medicine, beginning with Year One Biomedicine, followed by two years studying nutrition in depth.

The course takes a (w)holistic Functional Medicine approach, looking at how each body system functions and how they relate to one another. Western conventional medicine, by contrast, divides the body into specialist areas such as Ear, Nose and Throat.

This built on what my mentor, Dr Patrick Kingsley (author of The New Medicine), taught me, and which I have used for my own health ever since. It reinforced my own personal belief that each of us is unique, and that health needs to be looked at from a (w)holistic functional viewpoint: not only each body system, but integrating cognitive, emotional and physical aspects too. Hence my focus on personalised Nutrition, Lifestyle and Environmental inputs.

I graduated as a Nutritional Therapist from The College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2017.

Still fascinated by the success of Functional Medicine, I continued my studies extensively with The Institute for Functional Medicine, completing Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice in London in 2018, followed by the Advanced Practice Modules in Gastrointestinal, Immune, Environmental, Cardiometabolic and Bioenergetics, along with other Functional Medicine training modules. I have also studied Cognitive Brain Health and Unique Metabolic Needs.

In 2020 I completed the DNA Life Certification course, analysing gene sets, also based on Functional Medicine, so I can personalise your health plans using your DNA results.

I have used bio-resonance for my own health since 2012 and found it enormously beneficial for balancing my body. I bought my first Bio-resonance system in 2018 and a second in 2019, which I use in a supportive manner.

Believing in combining the power of the mind with every other element of health, I then trained as a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, graduating from the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy in 2024, so I can bring all aspects of health coaching together.

I enjoy being a health educator. I came full circle when I went from being a student to becoming a lecturer at The College of Naturopathic Medicine, teaching final-year students, and I continue to enjoy hosting workshops across health and wellness.

I also offer a health retreat beside the sea, in the coastal village of Johnshaven.

My passion for Functional Medicine Health Coaching and Nutrition grows every year, inspired by the difference they make to people’s health and wellbeing.
